Call for Papers - Research and Review Journal of Nondestructive Testing
Young talents and academics, this is your call! Contribute your work to the ReJNDT special issue 'Frontiers in Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation: Academic Insights (2022/23)'
Aims and scope
Undoubtedly, non-destructive testing and evaluation (NDT&E) plays a crucial role in our modern society, safeguarding its progress and sustainability. NDT&E strives not only for a safer future but also for the sustainable expansion of material, equipment, and infrastructure lifecycles. At the heart of this mission lies the continuous pursuit of scientific excellence, from the underlying fundamental principles to their real-world applications.
This is where we need the brightest minds. Our community contains so many exceptional young researchers embarking on their academic journeys, ready to make their mark in the world of NDT&E. Today, we extend an invitation to you, the brilliant graduates, and emerging scholars of the academic years 2022 and 2023, to join us in a quest that will transform the landscape of NDT&E.
Our primary objective is to bring together your groundbreaking work in a format that not only elevates your individual contributions but also amplifies the voice of the entire NDT community. By participating in this initiative, you become a part of a dynamic force propelling NDT&E into a new era of innovation and discovery.

Publication process
In pursuit of this vision, we cordially invite you to submit your scientific work to this dedicated issue of the peer-reviewed Research and Review Journal of Nondestructive Testing (ReJNDT). Your articles should stem from your thesis, whether it's a comprehensive summary, a focused exploration of specific topics, or an update with further analysis. In each case, a substantial portion of your thesis should be closely aligned with the present-day challenges and developments in NDT&E. This encompasses the utilization of diverse testing techniques, the evolution of testing procedures, application-driven results, theoretical advancements, data handling, application for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) in NDT, and the exciting landscape of NDT4.0.
Articles submitted for this issue will be published in a (continuous publishing) CP Model. This means that papers are published immediately after finalization and can therefore be viewed and cited quickly.
The peer review process of this issue follows an open peer review approach. This allows a higher participation of different perspectives and a transparent review process. Submitted articles will be published in a forum board via NDT.net. Selected reviewers as well as other experts of the community can comment on the paper and thus ensure the quality of the work.
The paper will be published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. This is a license for unrestricted use of the respective content, obligation to name the authors of the publication.
By submitting a paper, the authors agree to the following publication licence: © Copyright - by the Authors. Licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. International License https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/.
Mark your calendars - the submission deadline is February 5th, 2024. Join us in shaping the future of NDT&E and be a part of an enduring scientific legacy.
Together, let's unlock the potential of NDT&E and chart a course toward a brighter, safer, and more sustainable world.
Guidelines for Paper Submission
Eligibility:
- Submissions are welcome from Master or PhD students who graduated or are graduating in the academic years 2022/2023.
- A significant portion of the thesis must be closely related to Non-Destructive Testing and Evaluation (NDT&E), focusing on major techniques such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Eddy Current (EC), Acoustic Emission (AE), Thermography, Guided Waves, Computer Tomography (CT), and more.
